Appearance for Work or School

Appearance: Your first impression is how a person see you. You are to dress for success. If you are applying for a job in the business world you dress appropriate well groomed and right attire. All jobs do not require the same dress code but you should always be well groomed and cleaned. In the classroom respect for teacher and classmates, be on time, and always tell the teacher and your classmates thank you. When using a email for job purpose these are the five things that I think can improve your chance of getting the job.

  • Be concise and to the point
  • Answer all questions, and pre-empt further questions
  • Use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Do not write in CAPITALS
  • Read the email before you send it

Respect for Work or School

Respect is something that you earn. People will give you respect if you give respect. You have to know how to talk, act, and carry yourself with respect at all times. Some aspects of respect physical -touching, verbal-calling you a girl, or honey, non verbal-staring at someone. Some important terms you should know is sexist, sex discrimination, sexual harassment, quid pro quo, hostile environment if you suspect any of theses things going on you can report them to the EEOC. One of the biggest aspects I look at is harassment offering job benefits, or promotion for the exchange of sexual favors.

Teamwork for Work or School

Teamwork: Working together as a team you will get more accomplished and more production on the job. In school having a team project everybody work together because I might know something that I can help you with and your other team mates might know something that they can help you with. If you are going to be late it is best to let the other members of the team know ahead of time do not wait to the last minute that way we can make the necessary adjustment to get the project did in time. It is all pulling together not just a one man show, doing all the work and everybody sitting back waiting on your result, if this happen do not be afraid to voice you opinion let them know this is a team project not just a one man show.
